Cheshire East is an amazing place to live, work, visit and invest. As the third largest authority in the North West and home to one of the strongest economies in the region Cheshire East Council is a dynamic organisation determined to develop new ways of working and deliver excellent cost-effective services to our businesses & residents.
The Skills & Growth Company, a new enterprise launched on 1 April 2016 by Cheshire East Council, is responsible for meeting skills and employment needs in the Borough, driving high growth sectors, supporting the needs of businesses and attracting inward investment.
The Digital 2020 Programme is designed to deliver a suite of projects that will be complementary and make a significant contribution to European, national and local targets for NGA broadband connectivity and business application. The programme will enhance access to ICT for SMEs in the Cheshire & Warrington LEP area. It will improve the quality (speed and reach) of digital infrastructure and boost the use of digital technology by businesses in the region. Digital 2020 will strengthen the competitive potential of SMEs, help develop new products and services, and ensure businesses exploit e-commerce opportunities to access new markets.
Digital 2020 has three complementary strands:
- “Not Spots”, extending superfast broadband to under-served businesses
- Connection Vouchers, helping businesses access and exploit superfast broadband
- Digital Support, advice and guidance to secure digital-led business growth.
We are now looking for an individual to provide administrative support primarily to the Digital 2020 team and also working closely with partner organisations to provide qualitative and quantitative information and reports that will inform the activities, policies and strategies of the Skills and Growth Company.
The Project Support Officer is likely to have knowledge, experience, or an understanding of working within technical programmes, working with a range of stakeholders. The successful candidate will be familiar with project delivery and reporting and also operating within a process driven environment.
