We are working to ensure that rural enterprise and rural jobs remain a key part of the Cheshire East economy.
Whilst we already have a thriving rural economy, our rural areas have the potential to make a greater contribution to economic growth given the right conditions and we aim to facilitate, engage, and support businesses in rural areas. Across Cheshire East, AgriTech accounts for over £2.9 billion and around 30% of the Borough’s economic output and more than a third (62,900) of the Borough’s workforce.
We support the growth agenda of Cheshire East Council and Cheshire and Warrington LEP and deliver sub-regional working as required within the context of rural development, including the LEADER programme and rural development regional initiatives – ensuring rural priorities are fully integrated and promoted. In 2015 Cheshire was named as ‘Best County in England to run a rural business’ in the CLA Rural Business County League Table.
Our approach is proactive. We engage directly with rural businesses, to understand your barriers to growth and offer support with your growth plans. We can support you with business planning and identifying relevant investment and grant funding opportunities for your business and facilitate the application process for such opportunities.
