The Skills & Growth Company can support employers in helping them develop a qualified and skilled workforce that is better prepared to respond to the changing economic environment. This can be about the up-skilling or re-skilling of their current employees, or the selection of ‘work ready’ and capable young people. For example this could include:
- The identification of future skills needs and succession planning that may be predicted from economic forecasts
- Creating links with providers of vocational training e.g. colleges, work based learning providers etc
- Developing ways to improve support for work experience placements and in ensuring young people leave school better prepared for the world of work.
- Providing information on vocational qualifications, apprenticeships, traineeships, internships, graduate placements and Government funding
Other services in support of skills needs can be identified and advised upon as part of a skills training analysis (TNA) and by the use of a skills diagnostic tool.
