Case Study: Cheshire Green Employment Park
“The Skills & Growth Company has provided advice and assistance in identifying suitable finance to fund the infrastructure requirements for the Cheshire Green site. In addition, they played a valuable role in lobbying the Local Enterprise Partnership to progress the application. This investment will bring forward a key employment site and will be critical to support the growth of employment opportunities in the South Cheshire area.”
Philip Posnett, owner Cheshire Green Employment Park
Cheshire Green is a major employment park in the South Cheshire Area. A former airfield, the site is expected is well placed to support the growing investment in rail engineering functions in the area and provide much needed capacity to support the growing need for design and build space in the South Cheshire area. Ultimately the site could support 3,000 new jobs.
The Skills & Growth Company* worked with Cheshire Green to identify suitable finance to fund the initial infrastructure investment in the site. This has included demonstrating demand to help justify the business case for funding, supporting an application and subsequently securing Growing Places funding of £3.6m from the LEP to address immediate infrastructure and site constraints. In addition, Cheshire Green has also been assisted with identifying and brokering interested occupiers for the site.
